Solid wood is a living, breathing material. Throughout its lifetime solid wood will absorb and expel moisture and humidity. In the warmer months wood may swell as it gains moisture and in the cooler months it may shrink as it loses moisture. For this reason it is ideal to keep humidity levels in your home between 35%-55%.

The best way to clean your solid wood pieces is with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth, making sure to remove all excess moisture. If necessary, a mild soap may be used on a solid surface, however you should refrain from using any chemical cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish of the piece.

We admire a patina of use that builds up on a surface as an item is used and leave our leather surfaces raw so that they may collect these badges of use. That being said, leather can scuff, scratch, stain or be ruined by moisture if treated improperly. If you wish to protect your leather you may coat it with a leather protector.

To clean leather surfaces, dust them with a dry cloth. Do not use soaps, chemical cleaners or detergents on leather - inappropriate cleaners can soak into the leather, changing the ph balance and damaging the natural fibers.

Our stone surfaces are supplied with a coat of sealer.  This being said, natural stone surfaces are porous and are susceptible to stains and damage.  Stone surfaces should be cleaned with water and a soft cloth, any spills should be wiped up immediately.  Stone surfaces can be re-sealed once a year if desired, a local stone supplier can also re-hone or re-polish your stone surface onsite should this ever be required.
